A budding trap rap artist, a once prolific chemist and grade 7 guitarist… we are Purple Jam Ltd. Upon reassessing our omnidirectional lives, we’ve decided to gather our intellectual resources and create the game of all games; Pitch Black: A Dusklight Story. We first graced each other in September of last year, coasting along the educational system at The University of Derby (Derbados) studying our Masters Degree in Music Production. The chemist; Harry Cooper, commonly known as ‘The Mastermind’ dawned the light bulb idea of creating a binaural based audio game. Naturally, myself and Jordan were instantly on board. Using our past experience in sound design, composition, game software development and narrative construction, we combined forces to create the game development company that we are today. With an unprecedented desire to excel in creative industries, we set upon our journey to create a diverse, in depth and exciting journey through our dark yet eccentric world.

From sock factory worker to Managing Director of Purple Jam Ltd, Harry Cooper utilizes his knowledge in game development to construct the unique binaural mechanics in Unity. Projections, micromanaging and authoritative based anxiety are his strong points… with an intellectual twist that we hope pans out well. Harry has been a budding creative leader from the moment he picked up his first drum kit, moving from music to game development in one blissful sweep.

All it took was one well-polished trap beat and some professional marketing, and Jordan Barry became one of the most up and coming trap rap UK artists in the market. Don’t let his man bun and stretcher combo fool you, however, this boy knows what he’s doing. A marketing wiz and sound design enthusiast, Jordan offers a wide range of sonic talents that help pave the way for our gleeful product. As cryptic and mysterious as he can be, he has no hesitation in showing you how we’ve created and marketed our game… and how he’s grown his somewhat badger esq facial hair…

From music to script writing, Connor Harrison (thinks he) can do it all… well he can do some of it anyway. Creating a rich world with distinct characters helped Connor escape the harrowingly relaxing lifestyle in which he indulges. With a history of musical composition and creative storytelling, Connor braces for creative impact in this multi-faceted and eccentric narrative. With an unusual fixation with the twisted and strange. He hopes to demonstrate just how plausible a post-apocalyptic world is… paranoid and suspicious? Most definitely.
